Mr Zakari said this during a Radio discussion on Techiman’s Free FM’s Morning Show dubbed ‘Edwaso Nsem’, with the Police Divisional Commander, Mr Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankra as well as the Municipal Commander Mr Afari Yeboah.

Mr Zakari reiterated that as public officers holding in trust public resources with the mandate to determine public course there is the need to hold ourselves accountable in line with values and principles of our code of conducts consistent with Chapter 24 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

Discussing the topic Accountability, Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Program (ARAP), Mr Zakari held that the only way this country can scale down corruption is partly for public officers to be honest with their duty activities.

 ARAP is a Government of Ghana project being implemented by the NCCE and other stakeholders with support from European Union (EU) to promote good governance by reducing corruption and improving accountability and compliance with rule of law.

Mr. Afari Yeboah, the District Police Commander urged country’s institutions and citizens to respect the principle of rule of law. Adding that the Police is always at duty to safeguard the rights and freedom of the people and would never condole with any practice under the shadows of corruption

The Techiman Divisional Police Commander, Mr Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankra, outline the role of the police in fighting corruption and urged citizens to be law-abiding, adding that citizens must acknowledge the supremacy of the law in the spirit of equality. He emphasized that ‘”if we allow the law to function at its rightful perspectives, corruption will have no space in the society”
